Beyond Comprehension

Don't watch too much of the news coverage of the aftermath of Katrina. The devastation is so astonishing, so far reaching, so deeply disturbing, its hard to comprehend its scope.

And far too many questions that defy answering. Why is the relief effort taking so long, why are so many people being allowed to sit and suffer? The response from the authorities has been bizarre and completely underwhelming. Its is overwhelming, the emotional toll just watching the news, seeing how utterly destroyed New Orleans and Biloxi are. Its awful. Sure is nice that Mr. Bush flew over to see what the damage looked like from 30,000 feet, I'm sure that was heartening for the refugees below.
