Playing with my Words

Readers of Intellectual Poison will already be well familiar with my fascination with words and their roots and how they form other words. Partly because I play an absolutely ridiculous amount of TextTwist (current high score on my Clie runs at 551850). Better than Sudoku but don't tell my brother-in-law who's got a serious addiction issue with the number game. Though, truth be told, I enjoy Sudoku as well because of the logical issues it presents. But its harder to commit a half hour to one of the more difficult puzzles when a round of TextTwist is completed in 2 minutes 30 seconds.

One of the more interesting aspects of the game is that I can see how many words are contained in longer words.

Can someone explain why someone engaged in "lust" is not a "luster"?
