Two Wheel Philosophy

As I've noted before, one of the best parts about bicycling for me is that it gives me a chance to think that I don't really get anywhere else. There's a clearing of the decks where extraneous things are shoved aside and it becomes a simpler equation. The result is that I return from my rides invigorated in body, mind and spirit. Among the other benefits is that I come up with philosophies while pedaling. Here are a couple from yesterday's ride.

The direct path may not always be the fastest or the most fun.

Sometimes you get more out of taking the hard way.

If you are stiff and inflexible, you will feel every root, rock and bump. Keeping your arms flexed makes you better able to react and respond to life's little problems.
