I read a good trick to use to prepare for a job interview and thought that it might benefit some other folks too.
A UCLA study found that people who thought about their positive qualities before a high-pressure situation secreted less of the stress hormone cortisol. The article says that self-reflection can counter the release of the hormone by putting events into a larger perspective.
So, positive self-reinforcement now has more scientific backing. Give yourself a pep talk before you face an interview and you can come off more like yourself and less pinched.
