WalMart Sniffing at Apple's Backside Looking for Treats

Wal-Mart has an ear for iPod market which makes sense with the new Shuffle, they can pretend to be cutting edge even though they sell predominantly schlock.

I'm not sure what to make of this potential new wrinkle. While I look forward to Apple increasing their market share in the lower end MP3 player space, I am bothered that WalMart wants to subjugate a beloved entity of mine.

The further mainstreaming of Apple is a good thing and I would very much like to see the Shuffle and the Mini toss the PC markets on their ear. Which is, of course, what Apple's been doing since they became Apple.

But I don't want a Shuffle until its got a screen of some kind though that's not likely to happen anytime soon.
