Today is the First Day of Four More Years.....

Four more years of saying you're Canadian when overseas (so they won't automatically hate you for being an American and re-electing Bush).

Four more years of incredibly dirty deals making millions for businesses.

Four more years of smirks, snarls and off-the-cuff retardisms from Bush.

Four more years of watching our rights be eroded in the name of patriotic terrorism fighting.

Four more years of embarrassment.

Four more years of the vile filth that is Dick Cheney.

Four more years of Ashcroft, Rumsfeld, Rove, Wolfowitz and the other ones who you've never heard of, never seen and probably would burst into flames if they saw sunlight.

Four more years of deceit.

Do I want things to be different? Hell yes. Do I hold out any hope for this country anymore in the face of this most shocking election? No, not really. We're a nation that values itself most highly above all others. This is a nation that is scared to death of "queer" rights. This is a nation that feels compelled to dictate abortion rights. This is a nation that I am more ashamed of than ever before. This is a nation that has just validated the last four years of Bush and handed him four more years because of fear.

The people feared the unknown more than they feared the known failure. And now we get to foot the bill. Thanks redneck America, thanks for keeping us locked onto the path into darkness, disarray and chaos. Remind me to kick out your remaining tooth when we meet up.

[Update: I should note, thanks to Rick, that by hick I mean woefully uneducated fools deciding their votes on soundbites and endlessly looped and inaccurate allegations against Kerry's character.

I'm not alleging that anyone not living in an urban area is a hick, just those people that decided to vote based on disinformation, rhetoric and party affiliation rather than what's in the best interest of the country.

A hick is someone who has their mind made up before knowing anything about the issue. An informed voter who voted for Bush with good sound reasoning, I have no beef with. An ignorant jackass voting for Bush because he don't like them gay folks and he'll get that Osama guy and Bush is always so upbeat, that person bothers the holy shit out of me.
