It Shouldn't Be This Close

Regardless of how the election turns out, Bush looks likely to win. The "news" channels are trying to stretch it out as much as they can.

The election comes down to provisional ballots, mail-ins, and margins. The vote should have easily handed Bush his walking papers.

Even if Kerry does end up winning in the final recount and courtcase and freak show. Even if he wins, in the end we've all lost. Our nation is so divided, so internally discordant that I just don't see how we can come back together.

I have some serious disdain for the vaporous "youth" vote. Which has failed to materialize again. And is sad when you think that it is from their numbers that the dead soldiers in Iraq will come. But its true that you really can't tell kids a damned thing anymore. They just don't get it, they're too absorbed in themselves.

Fuck. Fucking fuck fuck.

I want to run around the country screaming at people. What is wrong with people? Do they not know? Can they not see? How can they not know what the fuck has been fucking going on in this fucking country and around the mother fucking world? How can people not see the utter disdain with which the US treats everyone else on the planet? What in the hell is wrong with this country?

Even if Kerry ends of winning, it shouldn't be this close. It should not have been close at all. I'm very sad about the state of this country.
