Notes from the Frontline

Well, I'm home. Safe and physically sound. With all the flying yesterday I had plenty of time to think, plan, write, prepare and contemplate on much of my universe. My notes will be forthcoming as I figure out how to sync my Palm to my Powerbook again (the Palm nearly perished this morning out of sheer frustration).

One thing I do want to do is thank those of you that took the time to write me directly and express condolences. It meant and means quite a lot to me that my sorrow touched folks out there. And thank you for the wonderful news of intentions to reconnect family ties that had been left to drift in the wind. One thing I am keenly aware of is the finite time we do have in this life and it is up to each of us to spend that time as wisely as possible. And that means loving those who are important to you.

I know it would make my father smile to know that his passing may have helped to rebond other children with their families again. Anyone out there who hasn't told their mom and dad how much they mean to them should call them or email them or stop by as soon as they can. Same goes for parents, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles and everyone else. Let your loved ones know how much they mean to you. The meaning isn't solely in the knowing, its in the telling too.
